Lamborghini == Jessica Alba?

Lamborghini == Jessica Alba?, originally uploaded by ~g~.

Was having a chat with my ex-cell leader where she shared about an interesting conversation her cell was having. Now I hope I understand the conversation correctly, you know how 'chinese whispers' work.

So during dinner / coffee, the topic of conversation becomes BGR [Boy Girl Relationships ... surprise surprise. How could they do such a thing? How dare they discuss this topic WITHOUT ME!!!]

Well, along the way, the guys were discussing who they thought was pretty and the name Jessica Alba is mentioned. Now here is where it gets interesting. Someone comes up with this analogy and [a guy I presume] likens Jessica Alba to a Lamborghini. Extremely beautiful yet impractical, something you would only admire from afar. [Chi quai ~mandarin ie strange~]

Well, this thought churned through my mind today [see what rubbish I fill my brain with] and well, it doesn't make sense to me. Say if you had the opportunity of marrying someone who is beautiful, intelligent and down-to-earth, wouldn't you? I guess what I'm trying to say here is 'marry someone whom you're wholeheartedly in love with'. It is not about marrying someone like Jessica Alba but about wanting to spend your whole life with that special someone. Don't settle for second best just because the time is ticking or because you're being pressured by your parents/partner etc. Marriage is hard enough without needing you to second guess your partner or the reasons why you got married. So let me reiterate a point from Sunday, 'marry well'

[If Jessica Alba happens to appear on your doorstep declaring her unreserved love for you, please think long and hard before refusing her because she is 'untouchable'. Of course you'll need to get to know her before deciding. So as a service to you, send her over to me and I'll sacrifice my time to get to know her and determine if she is right for you. I think a pretty good judge of character. Muahahahaahah ... blogger's diahorrea continues ... ]

So, now that I've got that off my chest, here is my car analogy. The Honda HSC which bears a remarkable resemblance to my life. The car, like my partner is purely a concept. Although it does have one important trait about her: Made in Japan [:P]

Hahaha! When I first saw the title, I was like was Gerard there that night?! For a sec, I was spooked! You wld have enjoyed the conversation, and yes I think it was a guy who brought on that comparison. But conclusion fr our cell guys were this: they seemed to prefer a Toyota Corolla - solid, low maintenance and economical. Looks like no one will be fighting with you on this one, Gerard! :)

HSC is a nice car. I can see it replacing the S2K. Oh well will just have to settle for the HSC then.. Forget the S2K. Man, the first person who comments is always liz. I can never do it before she does.. ;) HAHAHAHAHAHAH

Hahaha, Liz is one of the rare ones who actually leave comments. I've seen others leaving comments on other people's blog, just not mine ... why leh?

Thanks Liz, the corolla just sounds sooooo wrong ... however I understand the logic ... must be a guy thing. I wonder what a woman's perspective would be? Using shoes as the analogy, ladies ... Betts and Betts or Jimmy Choo? [Who is this Jimmy Choo & why are his shoes sooo darn expensive and desirable?]

Anonymous ... HSC may never come true. Hope that isn't the same as my partner. Car analysts predict that the car may go into production in 2008 ... what does that mean for me?

Anonymous - who are you?! :) Do I know you? Are u in my cell or ex-cell?

You're right Gerard, not many ppl leave comments, but Im sure you have a lot of readers out there!

Oh my gosh... Jimmy Choo... I dont even know who he is! Maybe the car analogy can be used for both males and females...

2008 sounds like a good year perhaps then!:)

that would mean 2008 is the time for you to build the house that you wanted to build, time for you to get married to your "jessica alba" and to get your HSC.. hmmm.. OH NO... YOU WILL BE SUCKED DRY.. both by the car and your "jessica alba".. ermm wait.. nah i think mainly by your "jessica alba" MWAHAHAHAHAHAHA....

Hey who is Jimmy Choo? Is he an asian dude? I prefer international brands such as LV or CD ...
I think the analogy of caris better... But G beware, if you have a lamborghini, take it easy. Because a lot of people like to look at lamborghi because they cant afford it. So take it easy and dunt be too emotional about it... hahaaa

Jimmy Choo...?? what a name ???!! i'll bet he makes sub-standard shoes and sell them for very high price.. people then think that buying his shoes is then an exclusivity...

Hahahaha! This is SO hilarious! And Anonymous: I think I know who you are! You are definitely a guy, so that cuts down the list by 50%! Anyhow, I wont spoil the fun by guessing who you are on the blog!:P

Well, I hope your lamborghini turns up on your doorstep in 2008 then - it will be worth the wait! :) If Anonymous is right, better start saving! :P

Wow this does get more interesting... I shall ponder upon the deeper, underlying meaning in the last anonymous comments on the illusion of exclusiveness! :P

Hahaha ... hey cell leader ... you know of a 'jessica alba'? Who? Is she 'untouchable'?

So in the overall scheme of things, I'm gonna end up poor no matter what right? *sigh* ... oh well, my Lamborghini better just stick to Betts and Betts instead of Jimmy Choo.

This is Jimmy's website http://www.jimmychoo.com/pws/Home.ice
A pair of shoes cost a whopping 300+ pounds! Maybe I should start my own shoe collection ...

Just imagine $300+ worth of shoes used to walk over dirt / grass etc. Makes every husband want to cry.

BTW, the car I usually drive has 'died', tends to stall frequently. Had the people at KMart take a look at it but they weren't able to fix the problem. They recommended that I book it into a carburetor specialist. I'll leave you to psycho-analyse as to what this means.

I think this means it's time for you to buy a new car? Lamborghini perhaps? Hahaha!!! :P Or you could get the Toyota Corolla :)

hmmm.. get a merc.... they are pretty cheap.. for a low 6 AUD a day... and you only pay when you need to use it.. i think that is so much cheaper.. especially with the increase in petrol prices nowadays... that idea is worth a thought..

I agree with the Merc idea. I used to ride one, chauffeured too. He'll drop me conveniently outside my office. I never had to worry about servicing fees, replacing the tyres or even petrol. Oh ... for those who are still wondering ... we Merc is more commonly referred to as a BUS.

Today I was flipping through this magazine, and guess what one of the articles was about? Jimmy Choo! Apparently it was made famous because Carrie from Sex in the City made a comment on it on the show! And they are selling for about 375pounds... my gosh... it did look very cute, but not sure how cute it really is with that type of price tag!!! :P

Hi Lil' Star, yup I'm back but I'll be going away again! See most recent blog post. How have you been?

Hey Liz, I understand your hesitance. Any sane woman should. For 300+ pounds, you can practically buy a whole cow! Imagine how many shoes you can make out of that!

Hahahhaa.... the glamour in those Jimmy Choo shoes have certainly gone! Think one cow = many shoes, handbags, good leather jackets and steak for dozens of meals! Why would you want a pair of those shoes!!! :P

Have a good trip!
