I'm addicted ...

During the weekends, for some odd reason I always feel rather down. One could say depressed. I've never really given my moods much thought, brushing it off as 'recovering from a long week of work'. I don't do much at all during the weekends, just feel like sleeping most of the time [which I do]. As Pastor Benny Ho would say, "mind over mattress". In this case, I'm happy to let my mattress win.

Then during this weekend I was thinking to myself, what is different during my weekends as compared to my workdays? The answer came & whacked me in the head. Coffee! During a normal working day, I would have 2 cups. One when I arrive at the office & another after lunch. Now I'm not talking about instant Nescafe, we're rather blessed in the office to have one of those automatic coffee machines which grind the coffee beans & percolates the coffee. Heck, there is even an attachment which makes your frothy milk. Instant cappuchino at the push of a button.

So now that I know I'm addicted to coffee ... what should I do about it? Hhhmmmm ... have never been addicted to anything before ... what do you think?

The picture was taken from here. Just a word of warning, have a cup of coffee nearby otherwise you'll be craving for it really badly ...

Well, there are 2 options.
1. Feed the addiction - Get a coffee maker and some beans and make the brew at home!
2. Starve the addiction - Cut down on the coffee at the office and in time, you'll wean yourself off it.

I'll leave it to you which one's the better choice. But this is coming from someone who used to have about 6 cups of tea in a day.

Oh, and I am feeling better, thanks! =)

Thanks ladies,

I've gone on an 'involuntary strike' on coffee. Since falling ill due to a cold last week, I've had nothing but honey & hot water for the whole week. Had a dose of the 'heavy eyelid syndrome' but I'm not feeling the 'depressed' moods I usually feel.

Just remind me not to ask for the same advice if I have a liking to methamphetamines, otherwise I'd probably be encourage to setup my own lab. hahahaha ....

Again, thanks for your input.

Hmmm.... when I first read your entry, I was thinking, o dear poor gerard! And was thinking of suggestions that could "spice" up your weekend - ie doing something diff, going out, doing volunteer work.. but then hey if it's to do with coffee... DRINK UP then! :) Haha!

Ooohhh Liz's tips for 'spicing up' my weekend ... hahaha, thanks for caring!

I had my first coffee (after a week hiatus) at church this morning. Had to get the engines up & running for ushering.

It was ok, back to the 2 cups routine then. Seriously though, I'm thinking of reducing it to 1 cup ... we'll see.
