Welcome to spring ...

I know I'm 12 days late in saying this but "Welcome to spring". These past few days have been rather gloomy with significant people passing as well as the anniversary of the tragedy 5 years ago. Watching the 'Path to 9/11' didn't help as it made me even more gloomier.

So I'm posting this picture of a cherry blossom from a tree that grows in my backyard. Everytime it blooms, it signals that spring is here ... new chapter ... new day ... new life ... even when it is still cold outside and wet, the cherry blossoms are a very accurate indicator of the end of winter and the warmer weather ahead. It is times like these that I really long for simplicity. Enjoy.

pretty cherry blossoms! There's a tree a few houses down from mine, I never fail to look at it when I walk past. Pity they've all fallen off now.

Hi Marianne,

Yes, they are quite a sight aren't they. The Japanese have a thing called hanami literally 'flower see' where they would picnic outside amongst the cherry blossoms. Now I understand why they take the time to do so ... alas after a few days of flowering, the blooms are but a few and the leaves are starting to take over.
