Forgiveness ...
Pastor visited our cell today and shared about forgiveness. Quite an interesting session delving into why we should forgive. A skill we must all learn I'd say.
Forgiveness [to me] is when you've let go of the notion of paying back the hurt that was caused. Only then can you begin on the path to healing.
[Update, forgot to add this] Sometimes it is not other people that we find hard to forgive. Sometimes the hardest one to forgive is ourselves.
In the end of it all, we came up with a few ways to practice forgiveness.
1. Make the decision to forgive.
2. Don't dwell on your hurts but instead focus on other positive things.
3. Prayer for yourself and the other party.
4. Verbalising your hurts to the One above.
5. Reading the Word.
6. Bless those who hurt you.
7. Seek Godly counsel.
[Pretty heavy stuff eh? Not to worry, I'm blessed in that I don't have enemies with whom I hold grudges against. I killed them off already ... hahahahahha]

That's a good summary of pastor's msg..
Btw, i came back to life...you didnt stab me hard enough... =P
Yes Lil' Star, we need to learn this indeed. Not easy though, one of the hardest ones to learn I reckon.
Hahahaha ... Nikki, I was about to say that all those who are 'still alive' are my friends. Oh well, guess I'll need to brush up on my 'murdering' skill too. Note to self: watch more CSI ... someone is always dead in CSI ...
Sometimes the hardest one to forgive is ourselves.
How true! Thoughts of "How could I have been so stupid/naive/blind/selfish/etc" are quite hard to reconcile sometimes.
But a piece of advice once given to me by my mother always resonates when I find it hard to forgive myself. She said, "Marianne, if you believe that God has already forgiven you, then why is it you still cannot forgive yourself? In doing so, you put yourself above God, and you diminish his finished work on the cross."
Nice one Marianne, I'll keep that in mind. I gather your wisdom comes from your mum? And God of course.
Wisdom? What wisdom?
