Do your initials mean something else?
At work, we tend to use our initials in our documents instead of our full names. These initials would consist of the first letter of our first name & surname. So in my case, it would be GC. So in minutes of meetings, requirement specifications, test plans, our initials are plastered all over the document. So much so that one of our managers is commonly referred to by his initials.
Anyway, I was reading a pdf document which describes our coding standards for C#. I was browsing through the various paragraphs when the letters GC caught my eye. "Why would my manager refer to me in this document?", I thought. So I took a closer look to find out why ..... GC [in this context] meant 'Garbage Collector'.
Oh well, in the over all scheme of things, not too bad. If your surname is 'Tan', just don't name your kid 'Samuel Andrew Tan'. Otherwise his initials could end up becoming S.A.Tan. Just imagine the cost of therapy.
