Eating food
I have evolved. No I haven't grown an extra limb, just tried a new way of eating. ["What new way of eating? You can only eat one way right?? Through your mouth???"] Yah yah .. what I mean is, I have evolved from eating to fill my stomach to eating to enjoy food.
I used to eat just to silence the "hungry moster " [you can probably tell from my gut, not from beer by the way 'cos I can't drink] Tonight, I ate with the intent of tasting food. Trying to savour the texture, flavour etc. Did this at "Fuji Sushi Station" in Victoria Park.
Entree was 'Yukke', totally raw beef with raw egg yolk and pine nuts. This was certainly an experience, the beef was soft with a hint of sesame oil. My main meal was the sashimi. The sashimi consisted of salmon, tuna, octopus and mackerel. I love my wasabi, I made a paste out of 1 part soy sauce and about 4 parts wasabi. I coated a piece of tuna on one side and put the whole piece in my mouth. The sensation of the wasabi making it's way into my head made both my eyes tear [tears actually ran down my face. I didn't cry because of the spicy flavour, it is just to do with the way wasabi affects your sinuses. Just like crying when cutting an onion.]
When I chewed the raw fish, I would move the meat through every part of my tongue [since different taste receptors are located in different spots. I heard the front part of your tongue contain the sweet receptors.] Tried to tell the difference between the various raw fishes, liked salmon the best.
The food was great as always, I wasn't full but I was satisfied. A good meal indeed.

ohhhh...I like octopus the most among all in sashimi...waHHhhhh...1 part of soy sauce+4 parts of wasabi!!!!!!!=.=" well,I don't really like wasabi...so usually I only eat with soy sauce..hehehe=p
No wasabi? Even a little bit? You don't know what you're missing.
Yes, octopus is nice but that is cooked. Well, I don't think I'd want to eat raw octopus anyway.
It's amazing how you'd think fish would taste horrible if eaten raw but when it is prepared correctly, it is ... heavenly. And good for you too. No oil whatsoever. Just have to make sure the fish is very fresh ...
Happy Eating!!!
