If I ever end up in China, I'd probably starve ...
Why? Due to my inability to read Chinese (~shock horror~). Even though I had some tuition during my primary school days, I never could remember the various strokes & pronunciations.
Surely China being the bustling, progressively modernised country that it is, some menus would have the food items written in English wouldn't they? Of course they do .... see here.
Looks like I'm not the only one using Google to translate Chinese directly to English. For those who do know how to read Chinese, this must me hilarious. As for me, I'm gob smacked.
Waiter: "I recommend the 'carbon burns', wonderful during winter. Or maybe our house specialty 'frog gruel'. For something exotic, maybe 'france many privates'?
Me: (Thinking to myself) Now where did I see that McDonald's restaurant?
