What have I done???

It is scary when this is the first question that comes to your mind after getting your hair cut, which I did today. My usual hairdresser was MIA (missing in action) & my hair was starting to annoy me so I decided to go a different hair dresser.

Made an appointment with a japanese hairdresser in Northbridge, Shinobu is her name. She is here on a study/work visa, doing a english course. I'd say she is in here early 20s (I'm quite bad at guessing someone's age).

When I got there she was finishing up with a female client & I was impressed with her work, so my fears eased somewhat. Then she approached me, exchanged pleasantries & finally came down to serious business, choosing the hair style. She asked what I wanted and I said a "short style", so she flicked a few pages of a book & showed me some suggestions. I had a book in hand so I started flicking through too. Unfortunately the style with which I've been accustomed to was not there, [Does this mean my usual hairstyle is old???] & the other hairstyles are more of the "punk" hairstyle which we've grown accustomed to. You know, messy spiked up hair that sometimes make me wonder if they even brushed their hair in the morning.

So ... unable to pick 'my usual' hairstyle, I chose one that had the least "punk" look & she went about cutting my hair. Have to admit this was the first time I perspired on the chair, nervous about what the end result would look like. Skill wise, she was up to the task & had a good eye for detail, so no complaints there. I'm just unsure that my choice was indeed a suitable one.

Anyway, half an hour later ... I have a new haircut. What have I done ???
